Videos: Arsenal, Chelsea And Man Utd Wins

Aston Villa managed to hold off Wigan Athletic at DW Stadium for a 2-1 victory, only their second away win of the campaign. Darren Bent did not add to his debut goal but his arrival appears to have lifted the midlands club, who are now six points above the drop zone. Goals from Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young sealed the win for the Villains. Although, James McCarthy pulled one back for Wigan but it wasn't enough to stage a comeback.

It wasn't looking very likely at halftime, when Manchester United were down 2-0 against a rampant Blackpool, but Sir Alex Ferguson's side have somehow both retained their unbeaten record and emerged from Bloomfield Road with all three points, with a brace from Dimitar Berbatov and a clinical finish by Javier Hernandez overcoming header goals by Craig Cathcart and DJ Campbell for Blackpool. The introductions of Ryan Giggs and Javier Hernandez in the the second half proved to be the catalyst for United.

Now, Chelsea are trailing 10 points behind the current leaders, United. On Monday, the Blues romped Bolton Wanderers, 4-0 at The Reebok. Bolton started the match brightly, but after Didier Drogba's 11th minute stunner, it was basically all Chelsea. The opener put a damper on things, and Florent Malouda's second goal killed off almost all of the hosts' confidence. What little shred of that confidence was left was thoroughly destroyed when Nicolas Anelka scored to make it 3-0 in the 56th minute, and Ramires' goal, the last goal of the game, just added a few style points.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are one match away from ending a silverware drought that's lasted since 2005. Thanks to goals from Nicklas Bendtner, Laurent Koscielny and Cesc Fabregas, the Gunners defeated Ipswich Town 3-0 on Tuesday, moving past the Tractor Boys with a 3-1 aggregate win, confirming their place in the Carling Cup final. They will take on either West Ham United or Birmingham City. Arsenal are second on the Premier league table with 46 points while United are on 51 points.
