Video: Saturday's Bundesliga And Serie A

Bayern Munich's Mario Gomez hit a hat-trick as the defending Bundesliga champions moved up to third with a 5-1 win over Kaiserslautern in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Gomez is the league's joint topscorer with 15 goals. His goals came after Arjen Robben opened the scoring at the end of the first half, with Thomas Mueller completing Bayern's spree.



Leader Borussia Dortmund was held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Stuttgart. Dortmund took a first-half lead through rising star Mario Goetze but Pavel Pogrebnyak equalized for Stuttgart on the 84th minute.



Elsewhere, Raul Gonzalez scored the only goal for Schalke at Hannover, Freiburg drew 1-1 with Nuremberg and Former England manager Steve McClaren ended a ten-match winless run when his Wolfsburg side earned a 1-0 victory at Mainz.



In the Serie A, Francesco Totti inspired Roma to a 3-0 win at home over Cagliari. Totti opened the scoring with a penalty midway through the first half. Simone Perrotta added the second and Jeremy Menez added a third in stoppage time to seal the win.



Palermo moved level on points with sixth-placed Juventus with a narrow 1-0 win over Brescia at the Stadio Renzo Barbera. Parma climbed six points clear of the Serie A relegation zone with a 2-0 victory over Catania at Stadio Ennio Tardini.
