WC2010 Semifinal 1: Video Highlights

Uruguay 2 Netherlands 3

The scoreline makes this game looks like a thriller. Well, it's not. However it was more interesting during the stoppage time. It was a match where the Dutch controlled most of the play and broke it open in the second half. The opening half had two goals with Holland’s Giovanni Van Bronckhorst scoring in the 18th minute on a fantastic long range shot and a free kick from Uruguay’s Diego Forlan in the 41st minute. In the second half, the Dutch took control of the match with two goals in the span of three minutes. Wesley Sneijder scored in the 70th minute and Arjen Robben added another in the 73rd minute with a great header. Uruguay revived their hope when Maxi Pereira scored in stoppage time to make 2-3 but that’s as close as it could get for them. The Dutch will now play the winner of Spain/Germany in the final while Uruguay will play the loser in the third place match.

0-1 Van Bronckhorst 18′

1-1 Forlan 41′

1-2 Sneijder 71′

1-3 Robben 73′

2-3 Pereira 90′
