WC 2010 Day 18 : Video Highlights

Netherlands 2 Slovakia 1
Netherlands beat Slovakia 2-1 in the Round of 16, thanks to a classic piece from Arjen Robben. Despite being injury prone, Robben proved once again that even half fit, he’s basically unstoppable. Take a look at Netherland’s first goal, in which Wesley Sneijder’s plays a perfect long pass ahead of Robben, who cuts in from the right and shoots inside the near post with his left foot. With all the talent of Robin van Persie, he is merely decoy to make room for Robben’s left foot. He should realise who is the real deal in the Dutch team. So, Slovakia out. But a great achievement to reach the Round of 16. Netherlands advance with a 100% winning record. All Goals (Robben 18′, Sneijder 84′, Vittek 90′)

Brazil 3 Chile 0
The much hyped game between traditionally attacking Brazil and actually attacking Chile was anything but the high-flying affair it was could have been. Of course with Dunga on the sidelines it shouldn’t be too surprised – nor should you be surprised by the result: a commanding 3-0 Brazil win. Another day, another win without much care for the method. They’ll now match up with the Netherlands in a battle of Who Are We Again? – two teams dismissing their attacking histories for defensively sound, effective, result-oriented football. Which means the Netherlands & Brazil quarterfinal may just be the game to blow the lid off this World Cup. All Goals (Juan 34′, Luis Fabiano 38′, Robinho 59′)
