WC 2010 Day 12 : Video Highlights

France 1 South Africa 2
Easily one of the most enthralling games at the World Cup thus far ended in the hosts making history, only not the type of history they’ll appreciate: South Africa are the first ever host nation to crash out in the groups of the World Cup.For France, it’s a blow but not entirely unexpected – this loss mirrored the rest of their campaign, right down to the end. The complete overhaul which is inevitable just seems all the more necessary and acceptable. Maybe one of the worst France team to play in the World Cup but at least, they scored a goal on their final match in this tournament.

Uruguay 1 Mexico 0
This wasn’t quite the snore draw we were predicting. The Mexico players clearly weren’t enthused about accepting a draw, finishing second and playing Group B winners but it was Uruguay who scored and finished top of Group A. In the end France scored and pulled it back to 2-1, which took some pressure off of Mexico, and allowed them to advance in second place, with a 1-0 defeat.

Argentina 2 Greece 0
Argentina's win eliminated Greece from the knockout stage. Greece played solid defense and keep the match scoreless until late in the second half. Argentina continued to push forward and attack which paid off in the final 11 minutes. Martin Demichelis and Martin Palermo scored the goals for Argentina. Another inspiring performance by Little Messi.

Nigeria 2 South Korea 2
The game had all the right ingredients to be an exciting game: two teams needing either wins and/or results in their favor combined with two suspect defenses. And it was every bit as good as advertised. Nigeria problematically included some suspect finishing as well, thus their World Cup is good and finished, exiting with one point and three goals scored. Thus, it's South Korea who will be tasked with the suddenly very impressive Uruguay
