Steve McLaren & FC Twente's Triumph

A forgotten man of English footbal, Steve McLaren proved his worth with unfancied FC Twente. The former national manager who left England's shores in agony two years ago became the first Englishman since Sir Bobby Robson to win a domestic title on foreign soil. Sir Bobby did it with Barca in 1996.

McLaren took FC Twente to their first ever Eredivisie in the club's 45 year history when they beat NAC Breda, 2-0 on the road. FC Twente beat out Martin Jol's Ajax by one point as they finished with 86 points with just two losses.
